Trigger Gloves

The best of both worlds: mitten warmth with index-finger precision. BAÏST trigger gloves group three fingers for heat retention while freeing your index finger for pole grip, zipper pulls, and binding adjustments. Same waterproof goat leather shell, same four-liner modular system, same Everest-tested construction.

Trigger Gloves vs. Gloves vs. Mittens: Which Is Right for You?

Gloves give you five-finger dexterity but less warmth — each finger is insulated separately, so they lose heat faster. Mittens maximize warmth by keeping all fingers together but sacrifice precision. Trigger gloves (also called lobster gloves or 3-finger gloves) split the difference: your index finger is free for precise tasks while the other three fingers share warmth in a single compartment. For most skiers, triggers are the ideal compromise. You get enough dexterity to grip poles, adjust goggles, and zip pockets — but significantly more warmth than a five-finger glove. BAÏST trigger owners consistently report warmer hands than they had with their previous five-finger gloves.

The BAÏST Trigger System

Like every BAÏST shell, the trigger accepts all four interchangeable liners. The trigger-specific liners are shaped to match the 3-finger compartment layout. The shell uses the same waterproof goat leather and ballistic Cordura as the Classic glove, with reinforced knuckles and a snowlock cuff.

Who Should Choose the Trigger?

Skiers who run cold but still need some dexterity. Backcountry skiers who need to manage buckles, skins, and beacons. Snowboarders who strap in frequently. Anyone who’s tried mittens but misses having a free index finger.
