Living her BAÏSTLife.
We are continuing to highlight our BAÏSTLife Crew, made up of several talented athletes who push our brand to the limit and always live their BAÏSTLife. We recently featured Brooke Edwards, and now we are highlighting Kelsey Sanders, an avid skier who enjoys skiing Colorado slopes and surrounding areas. Want to know more? Read on to get a peek into Kelsey's life:
How long have you been skiing/riding? How did you get started?
Started skiing at 2 years old, started riding at 10, and have been alternating ever since. Growing up with a ski resort less than 5 minutes from my front door, it never occurred to me to not ski. Before I could even walk, my parents had me on objects that would slide down the snow.
What is your first memory of skiing and who introduced you to the sport?
My dad taught me and my brother both to ski and snowboard, to this day he still is ripping down the slopes. I remember my bright collared onesie I wore when learning to ski and laugh thinking how it’s back in style.
What is your favorite memory of being in the snow/in nature?
I honestly love family ski days! We try to make a point of getting together us all together at least once a season and make the best of it, it’s always a fun time.
What is your home mountain and what are your favorite parts about it?
Born and raised in Vail, CO so Vail and Beaver Creek remain near and dear to my heart, I love how well I know the runs, can find the power pockets, and areas to get away from the crowds.
What is the best ski day you've ever had?
Sleeper pow day at Alta ski resort! Endless refills of pow for the entire day.
Where is your favorite place to ski?
I’ve recently loved traveling and checking out new resorts all over the state of Colorado and neighboring states. It’s fun to see new views and terrain.
What do you do in the off-season to stay in shape?
I love to hike and backpack the mountains of Colorado with my pup Oliver.
What hobbies do you have other than skiing?
I’m a physical therapist and love getting people back to optimal function, if it’s not the winter, you will see me out hiking, backpacking and mountain biking around Colorado!
Do you have any wellness tips for people who want to ski on your level?
Consistency, repetition, build up the strength beforehand, maintain your endurance, fuel your body appropriately, recover and repeat!
