Dave Stergar is one of the most recognizable skiers in the Big Sky/Southwest Montana area. Dave is a native Montanan who learned to ski at age 3 at tiny Wraith Hill that had two tow ropes. Skiing was a big part of Dave’s upbringing, and he has continued his passion while making his ski home in Big Sky. He has appeared in many publications including Powder and Ski magazine, many advertising campaigns for Big Sky resort, as well as several local publications. Dave has spent time as a mountain guide, mountain ambassador, and IFSA judge. Dave is an ambassador for BAÏST gloves, Salomon, Giro, BootDoc/Hotronic, and GoPro. He spends as much time as possible in the mountains and when he isn’t skiing the steeps of Big Sky and the adjacent backcountry, you will find him running and cycling the incredible trail networks of Southwest Montana. After spending 27 years as a middle school teacher, Dave is now retired and spending even more time on the slopes. Skiing is his passion.
