Living his BAÏSTLife.
We are continuing to highlight our BAÏSTLife Crew, made up of several talented athletes who push our brand to the limit and always live their BAÏSTLife. Jeff is a former competitor of the IFSA junior big mountain circuit. He now spends his winters filming and shooting photos in the beauty of his home resort. Want to know more? Read on and get a peek into Jeff's life:
How long have you been skiing?
19 years. How did you get started skiing?
My uncle put me on skis at 3 years old and I fell in love with the sport.
Do you have any funny stories or special memories of being on the slopes?
Just countless memories of spectacular falls.
How many days do you currently spend skiing each year?
75-100 days.
What is your favorite memory of being in the snow/in nature?
Probably my first day cat skiing in grade 8. The insane snow conditions left me smiling for days!
What does your perfect ski day look like? Who’s with you? Where are you?
Wake up, check Instagram, look at the snow report, make some coffee, hop in the truck, crank some tunes and head up to the hill!
What makes your riding style different from others?
I like to throw my own style into everything I do. I take a unique view on lines and jumps and try to throw some “jeff spice” in there with a signature tweak. I also like to vocalize my joy by hooting and hollering all day so everyone knows how stoked I am!
What is your home mountain and what are your favorite parts about it?
Red Mountain Resort in Rossland BC. The best part about Red is that for days after a snowfall I can still find fresh stashes of powder in bounds! There are fresh turns to be had even a week after a huge dump! It's amazing! What is the best ski day you’ve ever had?
Probably Cat skiing last year in the Valhalla mountains. We got about 50 cm of crazy light snow the few days before and the skiing was unbelievable. It was so sick to shred with the crew in mind-blowing powder.Where is your favorite place to ski?
Red Resort — no question! What’s the furthest you’ve ever traveled to ski?
I went to Andorra, Europe in 2016 for the World Junior Freeride Championships. What’s the most challenging mountain you’ve ever skied?
Whistler’s got some pretty rowdy lines! What do you do in the off-season to stay in shape?
Hit the iron like a gym meathead, hahahaha. I love lifting weights!Do you have any wellness tips for people who want to ski on your level?
Have fun with things and find your own style! If you aren’t enjoying it, then you’re doing something wrong! You are headed out to the hill: What's in your pack? Tell us your 5 must-haves.
Water bottle, GoPro + spare batteries, extra goggles, snacks (beef jerky), and avalanche gear cause ya never know!If you use BAÏST products, why do you enjoy riding with them?
Because I can feel the quality when I wear them. They don’t feel cheap or weak and I never have any concerns of getting cold hands or wrecking my gloves cause I know they’ll hold up!What made you decide to try/use/work with BAÏST?
I did some research on them and loves the story behind them and the workmanship that goes into every pair! What hobbies do you have other than skiing?
Mountain biking, weight lifting, making edits and filming, photography, modifying my truck.
